[ What we build ]
An outdoor classroom only earns its place if a lesson can happen in it when the weather turns. Everything here is drawn, built and installed by our own team, sized for the class that will use it.
[ The range ]
A shelter sized for a full class.
A roof, a floor and room for everyone, so an outdoor lesson stops being weather dependent.
A roof off the side of the building, so a class can get outside in the dry without a separate structure.
A raised timber deck for assemblies, performances and sports day.
A stage with steps that double as seating, so a class can sit facing it.
A carved chair and a curved bench, set out so a class can sit together outside.
An open beam roof over a deck, for a class to work under in the dry shade.
Your own wording routered into the seat back, with matching plaques and wall boards to go with it.
A small enclosed corner away from the noise of the yard, with seating in the middle.
[ How they are built ]
Galvanised steel posts are concreted into the ground and the timber legs sit over them, so the timber never sits in wet ground.
Locally sourced oak and sweet chestnut, alongside Douglas fir, larch and spruce, from managed forests.
Everything apart from green oak is finished in an oil-based product, and we recommend re-coating each spring. Green oak is left to weather naturally.
Every structure is drawn by hand, to scale, before anything is cut.
[ Bilingual as standard ]
We carve and router in Welsh and English, and we make a bilingual range of learning panels and shapes used in schools across Wales. The Welsh is designed in from the start rather than added afterwards.

[ Who we build them for ]
Outdoor classrooms, stages and amphitheatres so a whole class can learn outside.

Everything we make, apart from items in green oak, is finished in an oil-based product, and we recommend re-coating each spring. That stops the timber cracking and splintering, keeps the water out and slows the algae that makes a surface slippery.
On a yearly maintenance plan we come back, inspect the timber, make good any minor damage and re-spray it. In year five we add an anti-fungal treatment.
Green oak is designed to withstand the elements, and its appearance will change over time.
